Port Malabar Rifle and Pistol Club in Palm Bay, FL hosts IDPA matches EVERY 4th Sunday of the month.

Everyone is welcome to shoot our matches or come out to observe. The cost of the match is $10 for PMRPC members and $15 for non-PMRPC members. Guests must sign in at the front gate with the guard then he will direct you to the Action Area Range. Active Duty Military and Law Enforcement shoot for FREE!

Eye protection is required at all times within the Action Area Range and hearing protection must be worn when near the shooting. Firearms are to be unloaded and in a case when arriving at our range. Firearms are NOT to be handled at your vehicle. Please use the Safe Area tables within each bay to holster or encase your firearms. No ammunition is allowed on the Safe Area table. If you inadvertently arrive with a loaded firearm, seek out a Safety Office who will assist in clearing your gun.

The SO committee meets the week before the match to review stages, so if you have an idea for a stage and would like to volunteer to help build it, please send the stage design to pmrpcidpa@gmail.com and the committee will review it. Stage designers and set builders shoot for free! We usually meet from 2 PM - 4 PM on the Saturday before match day to set up but that time can change depending on circumstances.

In November we hosted our first NIGHT Match, with a combination of low light and NO LIGHT stages. It was a big hit. Please be sure to thank the crew who arrived for set up on Saturday afternoon, stayed through the shoot as safety officers and score keepers, then returned at dawn, Sunday morning, to work again for the day shoot. Without these people we don't get to shoot.

Our next match will be on December 28th. This will be our annual Classifier match and Howard Woodruff will be your Match Director. Just a reminder that this is a great opportunity to log your required Classifier for all major matches in 2015, including the Florida State Match in March.

Pre-registration is at Clubs.Practiscore.com and will open December 12. We use this information to insure that we have sufficient safety officers and bays set up.

IDPA Practice is scheduled for the third Sunday of each month, and will be on December 21. If you are interested in learning IDPA a practice session is recommended. It is a great way to become familar with IDPA without the stress of experienced shooters and a timer. IDPA RULES

All shooters are welcome to test the waters at a match and you will find a friendly and helpful group of shooters and safety officers to see you through your first match. Here is the link to the IDPA New Shooters Packet to get you acquainted with the procedures at the range.

NEW SHOOTERS should arrive by 8:00 AM for registration.
All NEW SHOOTERS must attend a safety briefing at 8:15 AM, if new to IDPA or PMRPC.
NEW SHOOTERS should arrive at the safety briefing with unloaded gun holstered, magazine carriers in place, cover garment, and two magazines (one with two rounds and the other loaded to division capacity). Each unclassified shooter will perform a simple, supervised, three round safety exercise before heading to the bay.

Please remember that we are requiring IDPA membership to shoot the matches; however, first time shooters are welcome to give it a try before joining. You can join IDPA on their website at www.idpa.com.

ATTENTION: ALL retention style holsters that require the use of the index finger of the strong hand to release a lock prior to drawing the pistol (similar to, and including the BLACKHAWK SERPA), are BANNED from PMRPC IDPA matches.
